Gold Coast’s Swell Festival has been running for 20 years, and it can be breath-taking or just laugh-out-loud funny depending on each year’s theme. It’s beachside art, temporary sculpture installations with most made of packed sand or recycled detritus. The festival stretches from Surfers Paradise down to almost the NSW border. This year, an architecture student is inviting us to visit his fortress of milk crates, which is apparently both fragile and a feast for all senses. A huge black sculpture entitled Respect is also being installed on Elephant Rock, out Currumbin way. We’ve got gorgeous weather for this Spring festival - come join us! https://www.artshub.com.au/event/swell-sculpture-festival-2022-2567610/
